Nicki Gur was born in Israel and moved to Canada when she was 7 years old. Nicki's introduction to dance occurred shortly thereafter at Jazz Be Nimble, where she participated in various forms of dance including jazz, tap, musical theatre, contemporary, and lyrical.
By joining a competitive dance team and working hard, Nicki was able to further develop her dance skills and win several awards for her musical theatre solo and other group dances.
Nicki completed her final years of dance at the Dance Machine Studio, which is managed by her long-time teacher Rachel Knapp. Nicki was instrumental in assisting Rachel with various dance classes and enjoys being challenged. A highlight of Nicki's final dance year occurred when she was asked to create and perform a dance piece alongside her teammates for a charity fashion show. Nicki was able to create awareness for breast cancer and is very proud of this.
Nicki is currently studying Early Childhood Education at Ryerson University. She hopes to become an Ontario Certified Teacher in the near future and put to use the relevant skills she gained from dancing throughout the years. She looks forward to becoming a member of Jazz Be Nimble and is excited for the year ahead.
