Emilia Torres

Emilia began to pursue her love for dance at the age of three. Born in Toronto, she has been dancing for 14+ years training in the styles of ballet, lyrical, acrobatics, contemporary and jazz, competing since the age of 9.

Emilia has attended multiple dance workshops in both Toronto and New York City, training with top choreographers of the Toronto Dance Theatre and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. It is her passion for dance coupled with attention to detail which has led to winning numerous first place titles and scholarships at competitions province wide.

Emilia was accepted into the Regional Arts Program for dance at St. Elizabeth High School, training extensively in ballet and contemporary. With experience gained throughout the years exposed in the dance industry, she is excited to create new and creative pieces to share with her students. During her high school experience, she has created choreography for children in the York Regional School Board that has been presented for parents and teachers with positive feedback.

Alumni of Jazz Be Nimble, she is looking forward to return as a teacher to guide and share her talents with other young dancers. It is Emilia’s passion and love for the art of dance that will continue to grow as she becomes more experienced in the dance world.
